About the Temerty Faculty of Medicine

World-class talent, interdisciplinary excellence, and collaboration with peers and partners have helped the University of Toronto's Temerty Faculty of Medicine continually solve the world’s most pressing medical challenges. We’ve remained at the forefront of life-changing health research and innovation for more than a century. We’re situated in one of the world’s most diverse cities and acknowledge where we work has, for thousands of years, been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Haudenosaunee, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.

Excellence can only be achieved through equity. Situated in one of the most ethnically diverse regions in the world, U of T Medicine has an added duty to reflect the communities it services.

An academic strategic plan outlines goals that advance the mission and vision of an academic unit over a five-year period. In the fall of 2018, the Faculty of Medicine began a consultation process that heard from more than 400 people.

The Temerty Faculty of Medicine invests strategically in administration to support faculty, students and staff. Administrative units and offices provide essential services, from human resources to information technology and integrated medical education, to let educators, researchers and students reach their potential and improve human health.
